Welcome to Lambeth's Education and Careers site that gives you information about your choices and explanations of what your next steps are after leaving school, college and university.
Lambeth Council remains committed to continuously improving and delivering the best educational and career opportunities so that you can achieve your full potential through education as you progress to the world of work.
From 2014, it is compulsory for young people to stay in education, employment or training until their 18th birthday.
Education and training can be summarised as:
• Full-time study in a school, college or with a training provider
• Full-time work or volunteering (20 hours or more) combined with part-time education or training or
• An apprenticeship or traineeship
Participating in education or training for longer means you are more likely to attain higher levels of qualifications and have increased earnings over your lifetime, better health and improved social skills. This in turn contributes to a more highly skilled, productive, and internationally competitive workforce which you will become a part of.
This website will also give information, advice and guidance for those not engaged in education or employment. You can find out here who to contact to ensure you get back on the right track both through education or work.
